Wait … Patience … Hope … Prayer … Steadfastness
Wait:
When prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) was thrown into a well in the remotest of forest by his own brothers and there was 0% probability of some one finding their way to the well to help him. But he waited, sure that some one would come and help him as it was promise of his lord. Then Allah sent a group of people there, making them loose their way and led them to the well from where they rescued the prophet.
Patience:
When Prophet Ayyub (Peace be upon him) was inflicted with a dreaded disease, he was patient enough to not to ask for a cure as he knew it was from Allah. But then a time came when it became difficult for him to do the remembrance of Allah, then he prayed “Oh my cherisher, I have been inflicted with a calamity and you are the most merciful”, he did not ask for a cure but he explained his situation to his lord. Allah cured him, After he was cured one day the prophet was crying on being asked why he said that when he was inflicted with the dreaded disease Allah used to say “Salaam ” to him every day after his being cured that has been stopped.
Hope:
The second Caliph of the prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), Omar (Allah be pleased with him) used to say “On the day of judgment if Allah declares that every one would enter hell save one person then I would hope that I would be that person, and if he proclaims every one would enter Heaven save one person I would fear that let me not be the one”
Prayer
“2:186 When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way.
” – Lord and cherisher of all the creations of the world
Steadfastness
It was in battle of Hunayn, when every person waging war along side the prophet became panicky and started running away from the battle field, the prophet was surrounded by the other party.
This situation is similar to you leading a procession and all of a sudden when the time is ripe every one just decides to go away and you are left alone, what would you do? walk away with them ?ask them to come back ?.
But the Prophet proclaimed “I am the son of Abdul Muthalib; I am the prophet not a liar”. Seeing this steadfastness of the prophet a small group of people who had run away from the battle field returned. Allah’s help and victory soon followed.
